Today, we’re going to talk about four ways videos build trust and credibility. Building trust is fairly easy – you do what you say you’re going to do; you act consistently; you tell the truth. But, how do you do that through video?
First off, provide relevant and helpful content. Many times, your customers are seeking a solution to their problem: How do I create residual income for retirement? My AC unit is making weird noises. What do I do if I get into an auto accident? Your “how to” and answers to frequently asked questions can easily build that trust and credibility.
Secondly, create consistent videos. When people see you have many answers to problems, in their mind, you are the expert. Their perception of you being the guru is going to help build trust and credibility.
Third, conduct yourself in a “non-salesy” demeanor. For instance, saying things like, [Scum salesman with greasy hair] “call now in the next 15 minutes for $10 off your next visit or else you are a loser” would sound much better if said like this: [Brittany] “We know life brings unfortunate surprises. So, for those unexpected moments, please give us a call to brighten your day.”
Lastly, take pride in the quality of your videos. One of the best pieces of advice my dad taught me was “garbage in equals garbage out.” Garbage videos, aka the value you put on your business, can very well equal garbage results. Invest in professional looking videos, either by doing it yourself or by hiring a professional video production company.
